While there's nothing wrong with healthy carbs from whole plant-based sources, (our bodies need energy!) sometimes it's nice to choose lower carb options for a few meals, especially this time of year when there is certainly no deficit of carbs around most of us. Yes, leftover Halloween candy...we're looking at you.
This smoothie recipe by Priscilla Soler of Gastrawnomica is not only super easy to make but is packed with fiber, antioxidants, healthy fats and plant protein.
1 cup frozen cooked cauliflower (RG tip: or use raw frozen cauliflower if preferred. It may effect the texture and flavor of the recipe, however)
3/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 Tbsp raw almond butter
1 tsp green superfood powder of choice (such as wheatgrass, spirulina, or chlorella)
1 scoop vanilla plant-based protein powder of choice
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1. Blend until super creamy, add the almond milk as needed. For toppings, I used berries, crunchy almond butter, goji berries, and cinnamon.

After 2 years of following a raw vegan lifestyle, I read the China Study AND The 80/10/10 diet and started eating a low fat mostly raw diet. It's been a year and I never felt better! I have so much energy and the benefits are beyond.
I created my blog a few months after I changed my diet to low fat, so pretty much all my recipes are free of oils, nuts, seeds or gourmet ingredients like agave and cacao. I think these are super healthy and tasty recipes that focus on what a real raw food diet should look like, the natural whole state of each and every food, without adding tons of refined ingredients.
