Planning to get outside and move that body this weekend? Fuel up with this all raw and organic energy drink developed by Amie Sue of Nouveau Raw! Why use dates and chia specifically? Dates are an amazing source of potassium to help balance out electrolyte levels. They offer a good source of naturally occuring fruit sugars which your body can immediately use for energy. Chia seeds offer an abundance of healthy efa's (omega 3's!) and complete protein to help the blood sugar remain stable. They've been utilized since the days of the ancient Aztecs as an incredible endurance food. This recipe is also super high in soluble fiber for a cleansing effect as well!

Ingredients

5 cups water
10 Medjool dates, pitted
1/4 cup chia seeds


Directions

1) In the blender combine the water and dates.  Blend until the dates are liquified.

2) Pour into a large jar and add chia seeds.  Place the lid on and shake vigorously.


3) Place in fridge to thick for 30+ minutes.  The longer it sits the more suspended the chia seeds get after shaking.
