Cocoa Nut Protein Cherry Smoothie

A dense chocolate shake made from 100% wholesome ingredients, and an added boost of protein and clean burning energy from Epic Protein chocolate maca. Brandi of The Vegan 8 has combined frozen black cherries, coconut milk, whole coconut butter, real vanilla and raw cacao to create a dessert smoothie that will delight all of your senses! 

Ingredients

2 cups frozen dark cherries (frozen is important, so there is no need for ice which would dilute flavor)
1 cup lowfat coconut milk (I used canned, but you can use fresh)
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (or agave)
2 tablespoons melted coconut butter or almond butter (I used coconut butter for a coconut taste)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoons raw cacao powder
1 scoop Sprout Living "Chocolate Maca" Protein Powder (Or just use an extra tablespoon of cacao powder)

Directions

1. Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with coconut cream, shredded coconut and shaved dark chocolate, if desired, for presentation. I added a cherry on top as well! Gorgeous and delicious!
