Coco Lucuma Berry Smoothie Bowl with Turmeric Boost

This time of year we try to think of as many ways as possible to sneak some fresh turmeric in - it is amazing for the immune system and for treating inflammation! While you may normally associate the taste of turmeric with savory curry dishes, try throwing a sliver of the fresh root into your next superfood smoothie - you'll be pleasantly surprised! Here is a great recipe to start with.


Sliver (about 1 tsp) fresh turmeric root- it is a strong flavor
1 cup berries- we used 1/2 cup strawberries and 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup packed young Thai coconut meat
1 cup water
1 frozen banana
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbs lucuma powder 
1/2 tsp maca
1 tsp Dastony almond butter
Optional protein boost: Sprout Living Epic Protein in Vanilla Lucuma


Blend and top with all of your favorite superfoods! Options: cacao nibs, hemp seeds, chia seeds, sprouted buckwheat, etc.
