A rich and velvety smooth caramel sauce that's free of all refined sugars! Instead this sauce is sweetened with low glycemic, prebiotic containing yacon root syrup and mineral rich maple syrup. This is a simple recipe that can be used in a variety of different fun ways! Drizzle over raw vegan yogurts, ice creams, cereals, or use as a sweet dip for apple or pear slices. This sauce also makes a decadent topping for raw vegan pancakes and waffles. You could even add a tbs or so to a nut milk base to sweetened it and make it richer. The options are endless!
Ingredients 8 tablespoons cashews or macadamia butter
2 tablespoons coconut butter
4 tablespoons coconut water- room temperature
2 tablespoons yacon syrup
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 pinch of vanilla bean
1/4 teaspoon salt to a blender.
Directions 1) Add ingredients to blender and blend until smooth
*To spice up this recipe you can add cacao nibs or chopped nuts. For example turn the caramel sauce into a turtle caramel sauce by adding cacao nibs and chopped pecans.
